The series has landed

This is the first working day evening in my new apartment (I felt it was important to start this post with a first!). What does it actually mean? I guess it has to be some milestones in the process of me settling in. I spent the first (almost) 2 weeks in a hotel, and moved to the apartment last Saturday. The apartment was of course empty. I slept in a tracksuit with a towel over my feet on just a mattress. So yesterday was IKEA time, which turned out to be a tiring experience. Still, late in the evening when I managed to peel of the last bar-code sticker of, I felt really good – the apartment was starting to feel really nice and cosy!

What else has happened with me? It definitely is much easier working with people in the same time zone and face-to-face. Finally, I have regained the rhythm and joy at work! I am having a football practice every week, and there is also a game every weekend. 11-a-side is much different to any football I have been used to, I still need to fully adapt. When I have fully settled in, I am also planning to learn some Chinese twice a week.

The apartment is 30 minutes with taxi from the office, but that is softened by probably the best view from a 26th floor in Beijing. So I will end with some pictures! (My camera together with my other stuff is still to arrive, so I only have mobile pictures…)

Living room front, living room window, living room back, work room window, bathroom mirror, night.

I am about to use some medicine, and I am not able to understand a thing that is written on it:)

As you might have guessed, I have successfully transported my body, along with quite a lot of my stuff (even more is still waiting for some bureaucracy to happen) to a place very far away. Good thing is – this has created in me an urge to start writing again! Bad thing is – my camera is still part of that stuff waiting for the bureaucracy. Anyway, I have my mobile camera as well. Spent yesterday in the Swedish housewife paradise, it was very tiresome, but in the evening once I managed to peel of the last bar code strip (all of the products had at least 2), the feeling was really nice!

Flight ticket to there. Check.
Visa. Check.
Most of the staff already packed and out of my apartment. Check.

Damn, I never thought this would actually happen. And it feels mighty strange.
